Delicious Homemade Chocolate Cake Recipes

Here are some simple and delicious homemade chocolate cake recipes that you can prepare under an hour’s time and enjoy with your family.

1. Simple chocolate cake

Ingredients:

– 3/4 cup of shortening
– 1 1/2 cups of sugar
– 2 eggs
– 1/2 cup of milk
– 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
– 2 teaspoons of baking soda
– 2 cups of refined flour
– 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
– 1 cup of boiling water

Method:

– Beat the eggs, sugar and shortening in a mixing bowl until the eggs are fluffy.
– Add the vanilla essence and milk and whip some more to incorporate some air in the mix.
– Now add the dry ingredients (flour and cocoa powder) in the mix and use a blender to mix them well (no lumps).
– Now add the baking soda and fold the ingredients together.
– Add the boiling water in last and pour the batter in a greased baking pan.
– Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for about 30-35 minutes.
– Cool and cut in slices to serve.

2. Homemade coffee chocolate cake

Ingredients:

– 2 cups of flour
– 1 1/2 cups of refined sugar
– 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
– 1 teaspoon of baking powder
– 1 teaspoon of baking soda
– 1 cup of cold brewed coffee
– 2 teaspoons of vanilla essence
– 1 cup of mayonnaise

Method:

– Take the mayonnaise in a deep bowl and add the sugar to it.
– Use an electric blender to whip the mayonnaise and sugar.
– Add the cold coffee to the mix and blend well.
– Now add the vanilla essence and mix all the wet ingredients into a frothy mix.
– In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda.
– Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, one spoon at a time, and blend well using an electric blender.
– Pour the batter in a greased baking pan.
– Bake in a preheated oven at 180C for about 30 minutes.
– Cool on a wire rack and cut in slices to serve.

Note: This recipe does not use egg but if you want to, you can replace the mayonnaise with 1 egg and 1/2 cup of fresh cream.
